Gender Equality and Gay Online Dating
By admin | September 9, 2011
What is gender? It is a word used by our society to categorize men, women, gays, and lesbians. A categorization which often leads to discrimination and biases.
As women used to struggle for equality with men, gays and lesbians these days struggle harder to gain acceptance from the gender-biased society. Many have come out and have been commendably brave but many are still hesitant in fear of being ostracized and critized by their familly members, friends, and majority of their social circle.
Most of these gays and lesbians turn to the internet for self-expression. The privacy and anonymity of the online world make them comfortable when looking for potential partners. One such online medium is gay online dating.
Gay dating has been popular since the explosive growth of online businesses all over the world. Gay dating sites, like other online dating sites for heterosexuals, cost a lot less than usual dating and hook ups in the real world. These sites often come anywhere from free of charge to a maximum of 60 USD per month.
Gay online dating offers great potential for finding ideal mates as it is non-confrontational, non threatening, very private, and it offers a great deal of control as to when and how to take a relationship to the next level.
While gay dating continues to become more and more popular, some improvements in our society are beginning to show. Some states in the US now allow gay marriage, while some already accept gays as productive members of society. Hopefully, in the near future, they would gain the equality that they deserve.
