Interested in Teaching My Kids About Turtle Care

For Christmas this year, Santa brought my children a pet turtle! They had been asking for a pet but I was worried about getting something that might die in a year or less. So, we decided that a turtle would be a good idea. Now, I am interested in teaching my kids about turtle care. They promised that if they had a pet they would take care of it and I plan on holding them to that promise. However, I can not expect them to take care of it if they do not know how, so I want to teach them.
