Since coaches can handle all manner of training for the team then there is no need to spend on these psychologists. Yiur can seek mental training elsewhere, even through the internet instead if paying so much money to such a psychologist. What I think is that it is better for the sports people to work hand in hand with their coaches only because coaches understand them better than any new trainer who will come to train them. For a psychologist to coach well, they have to spend some time with the team which is quite expensive. For players who are in the game to make money, it will be an expense that they may not be willing to try because it will mean a reduction to what they will be getting.
