The One Reason Why You Should Work on Yourself in Your Relationship

By admin | May 9, 2009

In the article Work on Yourself to Fix or Save Your Relationship, Paul Prince talks about how and why it’s important to focus on working on yourself to change your relationship to be the way you want it, rather than spending too much time focusing on your partner.

One “common sense” reason that stands out to me (which is briefly mentioned in the article, but should have been explored more) is the fact that the only thing you really have control over is yourself. In relationships and with ANYTHING, it makes a lot more sense to focus your efforst where you have leverage, than to vainly focus them where you have none.

Why strain yourself trying to change somebody else? Michael Jackson said it best – look at yourself and make a change.
