Apistogramma baenschi are a tropical fish species of the dwarf cichlid family. Theyre native to South America being found in the clear waters of the Amazon Basin along with many other dwarf cichlid varieties. Apistogramma baenschi are not only beautiful but theyre also particularly hardy making them one of the most popular dwarf cichlid species for aquariums. Apistogramma cacatuoides are much hardier than many other dwarf cichlid varieties and although care needs to be taken with water conditions they arent as sensitive to things like temperature and water hardness as other tropical fish. Apistogramma baenschi will thrive in water of moderate hardness and neutral pH level and in temperatures of anywhere between 74 and 80 degrees.
