Identity Theft - You Can Avoid It

It may be one of the fastest growing crimes in both the US and the UK, but there’s absolutely no need to live in fear of identity theft - some simple precautions should mean you can avoid it with ease. The fact is that most fraudsters get their information by relatively low tech methods - stolen wallets, stolen mail etc. In over 30% of cases the victim and the fraudster know each other. Take care of your personal information, don’t give details to friends and family and make sure you shred your bills and official documents before you dispose of them.
