Things Improved Dramatically

By admin | August 31, 2009

My father died when I was only five years old. My mother had four children, and all of a sudden she was a single mother. I remember what it was like growing up without a father. We never had any money. Whenever one of us needed shoes, we had to wait in line. For school, we got one pair of new clothes. The rest were bought at a thrift store. But when I was fifteen years old, my mother found out about grants for single mothers. She went back to school and got her teaching certificate. The next year, she got a job as a teacher and things improved dramatically.
