Arthur dialed the writer’s number. The call connected and he launched straight into his lecture. “Stacy, you’re a good writer, but you’re careless. I can’t do anything with this thousand word article about the best demisters. I wanted one on the ‘best dehumidifiers‘!” He was flummoxed to hear an electronic voice asking him to leave a message after the tone (beep). Tiredly, he repeated his speech and that he hoped Stacy would return his call soon. Then, he hung up. Freelance writers were a dime a dozen, but a finding one with good hearing and who didn’t avoid calls was another matter entirely.
