On the Go with the Family

By admin | May 12, 2009

Sometimes, when deciding how to travel, parents feel that they are opting the lesser of two evils. Either stomach the expense, trouble and gamble of irritating fellow riders by travelling by aeroplane, or take on the jam-packed, cramped car and stop for lodging and meals. Today’s travelling families are finding that there is a happier way – travelling by tavel trailer. Heading out onto the highway in a travel trailer is becoming an increasingly standard pick for families desiring to get at their holiday destination happy and relaxed. With a travel trailer, families can go at their own rate and view sights without worrying about finding lodging and meals. In fact, for some RV families, the travel IS the vacation!

Meals-on-the-go are a huge asset to RVing families. Searching for a restaurant when hunger pangs hit can be an appalling experience. Perhaps there are no well-known restaurants in the area. In some areas of the country, reaching a fast food drive through means travelling miles off course. In most travel trailers there is ample kitchen prep and storage space. Even if you have not yet arrived at a camping area, you can pull off the main road and have a fast bite or even a fine, family dinner when everyone is hungry — without succumbing to over-priced junk food from the drive-through. Fussy eaters or those on unique diets are not a problem when you travel with your own kitchen. You can even take along a portable grill for barbeque meals, or pop a pizza in the oven. Refrigerators in today’s travel trailers make it effortless to stock up on sensible snacks like fruit, veggies and dip and will contain all you need for at least a week’s worth of good, family meals.
