Signs Of Aging And Menopause

By admin | November 15, 2011

There are many signs of aging in women as they get older that are visible such as age spots, thinning hair and slumping. A woman’s body starts to lose important female hormones that can alter her physical and psychological well being as she ages. The beginning of menopause is when her ovaries stop producing hormones such as estrogen and progesterone which are important in child bearing. Her body is preparing to shut down her reproductive system. When the body loses estrogen, many symptoms can appear such as hot flashes and night sweats. A woman could also have memory loss and mood swings from low estrogen levels. Once she has ceased to have periods for twelve months, menopause is actually ended. She may then enter postmenopause and could also experience symptoms as well. Bone loss or osteoporosis could happen to a woman over the age of 45. Calcium supplements are suggested throughout a woman’s life to avoid this disease.
