More Business Goes to Canadian Pharmacies
By admin | December 21, 2011
There are an increasing number of people in Florida who have decided to obtain their pharmaceuticals from as far away as Canada because of a true inability to pay for their prescriptions when they are purchased from an American pharmacy. Not only do these residents no longer have to drive all the way to Canada to pick up these prescriptions, but the incidence of usage at a Canadian pharmacy online has increased significantly in the South Florida area because of the number of retired individuals in that location who require low cost drugs due to being on fixed incomes.
For example, one resident in Sun City has said that he cannot afford the medication he has to take in order to prevent a heart attack and without ever having to leave the country the man, who is in his mid seventies, has been able to obtain six months worth of medication for the equivalent of $140 for a supply of the generic version of Plavix. This medication is only available under a brand name version and no generic is available in the United States. This would mean that the man would need to pay $1000 for his prescription if he was to fill it in the United States.
Residents who have had to resort to cost saving methods for obtaining drugs have started to ask why drugs in the United States are so expensive and how the process might be improved. It would seem that American pharmaceutical companies aren’t doing themselves any favors by pushing people to buy foreign drugs.
