Your Household Effects In Transit

By admin | September 30, 2009

There is much to be said in regard to protecting your furniture and appliances in the process of a moving experience.  Moving blankets offer the protection that is needed for transferring these items onto a moving van as well as off-loading at their destination.  But there is also the time on the road that is critical.  The experienced mover will recognize that there is always the possibility of shifting and moving within the confines of the trailer compartment which can cause wear and tear on corners and edges if not properly protected.  It is with this in mind that care must be taken to avoid such an incident.

With proper securing and stabilizing of larger pieces of the household furnishings, there should be little opportunity for damages to occur within the move itself.  Moving blankets also serve to protect items from damages from dirt, grease or stains should this be present.  Straps should be used so that these protective covers will remain in tact and not shift so as to leave the chance for damage.  Take caution to when shipping smaller items that are of precious value.  These mats might be used in double or tripe thicknesses to give an extra amount of cushioning to prevent breakage or damage.
