Prayers - Military

Military Prayers

Military Mom - by Pam Gibson

Dear God,

Tonight I ask as a mother to bless my child as I do every night, but now I am reminding you this is a special child. This child helps to provide a blanket of protection that we as Americans slumber under each night. He has decided to give his life to protect this great country of ours, and before now there was always prayer for you to watch over this child but after the terror that has struck our U.S. soil, I feel even stronger, more pleading as I pray to you. This child loves God and country and has sworn to protect her inhabitants. But, this is still my child who I have sworn to protect with MY life until the day I die. Now I need your help more than ever. He is no longer in my reach, but can only be reached by your hand to protect him. He may be on the oceans, above the earth or in lands foreign and hostile to him, please God, keep him safe and bring him home to mealive and soon. Let this horrendous terror go away. Let us find peace and keep these special children alive and safe to teach future generations how important life is and how important it is to protect it. They are a rare breed, and we are the mothers who have helped to raise them. Now we are the mothers who ask for your help to protect them. Please bless all the mothers children of the world, but please remember I am a military mother and am asking you to take special care of this special child.

I ask this in your name God, Amen.

A Military Wife - Author Unknown

The backbone of the home you see.
That's what the military wife is to me.
Guarding the fort while her husband's away,
Defending and protecting his country each day.
Though many forget the importance of her role in his life,
Please, Sir, don't forget the military wife.
The woman who primarily raises her children alone,
The one who strives to make a "house", a home.
The one who sacrifices the time she could share,
The one who has many responsibilities to bear.
The woman who is married to a protector of the world,
The one whose life stays fairly unfurled.
I say again, kind Sir, don't forget the role
  she plays in his life.
Yes, dear Sir, the military wife.
The woman who stands by her husband's side,
The one who takes life stride by stride.
The woman who wonders when he's far away,
The one who prays for his safety
and sends tender love his way.
Next time you look into a soldier's eyes,
Think of the one who stands by his side.
The one left behind, the encouragement in his life.....
The woman who's called the MILITARY WIFE.

I Miss You Daddy - by Karen Mason

There it is night.  Here it is day.
While you are sleeping, I am at play
Running and laughing but stopping to say
I miss you, Daddy, when you are away

We may be mountains and oceans apart
So high and wide, but that's OK
My love can find you wherever you are
(or how 'bout I meet you half way?)
I tell my heart, "Don't be lonely" but it won't obey
I miss you, Daddy, when you are away

At breakfast and dinner and bedtime we pray
For God to protect you and help you be brave
I smile and remember why you are so great....

Tickles and wrestling at the end of the day
Teaching me, Listening to the things that I say
Hugging me, Kissing all over my face
Fighting so bravely for the United States...
Oh, I miss you, Daddy, when you are away

We may be mountains and oceans apart
So high and wide, but that's OK
My love can find you wherever you are
(or how 'bout I meet you half way?)
I tell my heart, "Don't be lonely" but it won't obey
I miss you, Daddy, when you are away

I miss you so badly when you are away
Keep fighting bravely for the United States
