Activities for the enrichment of your children. . .
Community Children's Choir and Drum Circle
Have you ever wished there was a music alternative to either pop music or classical music for your children? THERE IS-- the Community Children's Choir and Drum Circle.
C3DC is a musical organization dedicated to providing a well-rounded music experience, including singing, hand drumming and music reading skills, for boys and girls in third through eighth grades. C3DC performs sacred music in a wide diversity of traditions, styles and languages combined with hand drumming and Orff-style xylophones for a variety of church and community events. C3DC encourages growth not only in musical skill, but also awareness of faith traditions of the global community. Performances this season have included the Michigan Festival of Sacred Music and the Kindred Spirits-sponsored Children's Festival.
Interested boys and girls are invited to participate in a Spring Exploratory Term of C3DC, beginning Wednesday, April 2, continuing for eight weeks for $70.
C3DC rehearses at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Portage (on Milham between Westnedge and Oakland), on Wednesdays from 6-7:30. For more information or to register for the Spring Exploratory Term, please contact Dr. Janet Hill by phone at 269-544-2461 or by e-mail at hillparadocs@aol.com.
Girls On The Run - The goal of the program is to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development. Furthermore, we encourage participants to talk with their family every day about what is going on with them. The 10-week curriculum attempts to help each girl find and stay true to her REAL self.
